Stanza 3 – This stanza continues with the differences between the two roads. Though the second one that he took seemed less traveled but as he thinks about it, he realizes that they were “really about the same”. Stanza 2 – He looks down through the first one where “to where it bend in the undergrowth”, and then the second one then deciding to take the other path because it seemed less traveled or make people didn’t go through that route than the first one. He would like to try out both the roads, but doubts he could do that, therefore he continues to look down the roads for a moment and takes a long time in making a choice. Stanza 1 – The poet ones goes through yellow woods i.e, he goes into wood in the autumn season where the green leaves turn yellow, here he starts to describe his situation where he comes across two diverged roads and starts staring at them as far as down each one he can see. After thinking for a long time he concluded that he could only walk through one road however he hopes that in the future in would walk through the second path also. Summery of the poem – One day while the poet was walking through woods he finds out that he only has to take one route out of the two routes he has in front of him. ” The Road Not Taken ” was first published in 1916 which shows Robert at his best as a pastoral who combines simplicity with hidden, indirect and clarity of style and language.
